Information requirements
Within the construction industry, information is a vital part of the decision making process, ensuring that the right decisions can be made by the right people at the right time. Information might be created in the form of reports, drawings, schedules, specifications, contracts, models and so on.
The RIBA Plan of Work published by the RIBA in 2020 defines information requirements as: ‘The formal issue of information for review and sign-off by the client at key stages of the project. The project team may also have additional formal information exchanges as well as the many informal exchanges that occur during the iterative design process.’
